Mikosa

Hey all, I was reading Matt W. Moore’s blog and found this cool company in the Netherlands called Mikosa. As an artist and fellow bookmaker I really appreciate the work Mikosa produces. They bring all different styles of art and a slew of artists together to create a handmade zine. They stress the “handmade” for the creation of their magazine and try to keep old production methods alive using ancient machines and techniques. From screen-printing, painting, use of stickers, and hand-sewing the binding; they put extra love and goodness into their work.

Mikosa always includes a special item as an added bonus with every zine. Every issue has 10 international artists, 48 pages in each issue and prints only 500 units, making it a fun and unique piece for only 25 euros. I love the support of artists and ideas these zines portray.

We should totally create a magazine of our own, who’s in???

That’s really cool. An annual magazine would be awesome. Luckily we have some great printing connections.
