These beautiful, delicate, striking images by Raphael Vicenzi are mouth-watering. I can’t get enough of his truthful yet tender images.

Maira Kalman

Maira Kalman is having her first major museum survey of her work, Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World),  at the Institute of Contemporary Arts at the University of Pennsylvania. Her joyful images make me smile. Happy Friday :)

Great poster for our new office

Here at Artistic Hub, we are gearing up to move to a brand new office in downtown San Diego. I am excited to do a little house cleaning.. or should I say a LOT of house cleaning. As our moving date gets closer, I am trying to find a few fresh items to spice up the new office. This poster by Material girl makes me smile. I’ll take one please! Now I just need to find the perfect vintage frame. Thrift stores, here I come…

Let Yourself be Wrong

Lovin’ this print from the Raw Art Letter Press Etsy Store. I might just have to pick myself up one of these typographic beauties!

Bangkok Art and Culture Centre

Massive outdoor sculpture, larger than life wall paintings and psychedelic video installations are featured at Bangkok’s Art and Culture Centre this month by some insane artists. If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth stopping by. Plus admission is free! Located on the corner of Pathumwan Intersection, facing the MBK and Siam Discovery Centres.

Another Killer Music Video by OKGo: “This too Shall Pass”

The guys in OKGo are super creative and you never know what you’ll see next in their music videos. I applaud the team that built these contraptions for the “This too Shall Pass” music video. They are resourceful, witty and perfectionists when it comes to timing and measurement.
It’s just a good time. Check out the new video here >

Less Lamp by Jordi Canudas

Out of lighting ideas? Check out the Less Lamp by Jordi Canudas. The power is now in our hands! The Less Lamp is a sealed lampshade that needs to be broken in order to release the light inside. Pick axe included. These babies run at a steep $875 dollars but are a great addition to any space.

Vintage books get a facelift

While perusing a bookstore in a Malaysian mall and I came across lots of beautiful classic books with beautifully done covers. They are simple, attractive and get right to the point. Love them!

Check out all of the Vintage Classics here

Other great book covers:
“Two Caravans” by Marina Lewycka
“The Buddha of Suburbia” by Hanif Kureishi
“Metamorphosis & Other Stories” by Franz Kafka

A Poker Face Parody for Designers

OMG Have you seen this? Neutra Face: An Ode on a Typeface (A Bearded Poker Face Parody.) Like any appropriate design parody they mention Helvetica, sans-serif, leading and “bold-italic.” I love that geeks can go from conception to creation and this one will be stuck in my head all day. Lady GaGa would be proud.
